★ Reading Round Up #4 ★

17 September 2019

Happy Tuesday everyone! How is everyone? Before I get into this post, I just wanted to say that I am stopping my usual post schedule. Life is just getting in the way and I would rather upload good posts when I can than rush and not be happy with them. I hope you all understand. ♥

I've had a busy week at work and a pretty busy weekend full of organizing my room, rehearsals and shows. I'm definitely going to be spending tonight relaxing! It's 100% needed. Today I have a brand new Reading Round Up post for you all and I hope you enjoy it. I read two books last month but one was pretty big so I'm pretty happy with myself, especially because it's been a pretty busy month too.

WHAT I READ IN AUGUST

'I Heart Hollywood' - Lindsey Kelk ♥♥♥.5/5
Angela Clark can't believe her luck! She's an English girl living in New York with a dream job at hip magazine The Look and a sexy new boyfriend. Her latest assignment takes her to Hollywood to interview hot actor and fellow Brit James Jacob. Thrown in at the deep end she heads west with best friend Jenny dreaming of Rodeo Drive and Malibu beach. Soon Angela discovers that celebrity life in Hollywood is not all glamour, gloss and sunshine. Despite his lady-killer reputation, the only person who seems genuine is James. Then paparazzi snaps them in a uncompromising posistion and suddently Angela is thrust into the spotlight for all the wrong reasons!

After finishing 'I Heart New York' I just needed to pick up the second book as I enjoyed it so much and I was fully invested into Angela's life. I again, really enjoyed this book. Maybe not as much as the first one but it was still a fun read. I definitely felt like Angela was making her already awkward situations worse and she kept putting herself in silly situations and making decisions that were of course going to seem dodgy. On top of that, Jen was fairly irritating. I thought that the way she acted wasn't the best and she didn't come across as the best of friends. Especially when she was somewhat encouraging Angela to cheat on her boyfriend. Just didn't sit well with me. Other than that however, I did find it funny and there were definitely some funny moments. Also,  reading about NY in the snow has made me want to visit NY in the winter so bad. I also now really want to visit LA too as Angela and Jen spent most of the book in LA, Hollywood. I'm definitely going to pick the third book up soon as again I really do feel invested in Angela's life.
'The Last Magician' - Lisa Maxwell ♥♥♥♥♥/5
In mordern-day New York, magic is all but extinct. The remaining few who have an affinity for magic - the Mageus - live in the shadows, hiding who they are. Any Mageus who enters Manhatten becomes trapped by the brink, a dark energy barrier that confines them the island. Crossing it means losing their power - and often their lives. Esta is a talented theif, and she's been raised to steal magical artifacs from the sinisiter Order that created the Brink. With her collecting these artifacts before the Order even realises she's there. And all of Esta's training has been for one final job: travelling back to 1920 to steal an ancient book containing the secrets of the Order - and the brink - before the Magician can destroy it and doom the Mageus to hopeless future. But Old New York is a dangerous world ruled by ruthless hangs and secret societies, a world where the very air crackles ith magic. Nothing is as it seems, including the Magician himself. And for Esta to save her furture, she may have to betray everyone in the past.

Okay. So... I think I have found my favourite book of 2019. Yep, I said it. This book was just phenomenal. I love it. I love the characters. I love the world. I love this book! Seriously though, this book really surprised me. I don't normally read historical fiction as I find them quite slow but I could not put this book down and when I finished it, it left a hole in my heart. Some people may describe this as a slow read however, Lisa wrote it so well that it keeps you invested and you appreciate the slow build up throughout the story. This book is definitely character driven and I loved all of them. I honestly don't have a bad thing to say about them. Obviously, Esta and Harte were by far my favourite two in the whole story and let me just say I 100% appreciated the slow burn romance, my favourite kind! To be honest, this book has truly left me speechless but just trust me when I say, READ THIS BOOK!

WHAT I WANT TO READ IN SEPTEMBER
I don't expect to read all of these books in September as it is a bust month for me as it is the month of the show I'm in! However, I would like to get to these books this month.
'Throne of Glass' by Sarah J Maas
I started this book at the end of August. This is a reread for me and I really want to try and get further in this series than I did last time as all I have heard is amazing reviews! So far I am enjoying it so that's good signs!

'I Heart Paris' by Lindsey Kelk
Like I said, I am fully invested in Angela's story/life so I had to put this on my TBR. I hope I do get to this book this month!

'The Whisper Man' by Alex North
I only heard about this book last month and as soon as I heard the synopsis I just knew I needed to read it. I do love good thriller/murder mystery, especially in the cooler months! So I'm looking forward to picking this book up!

'The Devil's Thief' by Lisa Maxwell
This is the second book to 'The Last Magician' and I really want to get to this book due to loving the first one SO much! I need more of this story in my life!
There you have my latest month reading round up! I hope you enjoyed this post. I now can't wait to get back to reading! Let me know in the comments if you have read any of the books I have mentioned or if these are books you want to get to!

Trip Annoucement ★ Walt Disney World

11 September 2019

I never know how to start these posts other than by stating the obvious... WE ARE GOING BACK TO DISNEY WORLD! Are we surprised that we are heading back for the second time this? Propbably not but we have annual passes to use and new things to see and experience and we are both very excited! We are heading back in November for 10 days and we are going to be staying at a resort that I have been wanting to stay at for ages - Port Orleans: French Quarter!
Like I said, I have been wanting to stay at Port Orleans: French Quarter for a while and so I am very excited to stay here on this trip! We have walked round the resort before and it is beautiful. I just love the peaceful atmosphere and there are even horse drawn carraiges that roam around the resort, how romantic right!? And the French Quarter is home to the Beignets which can I just say, are delicious! We check in on the 19th November and will be staying for 10 magical nights before we head home on the 29th November.
We already have so much to look forward to already:

★ Meeting our Disney friends
We will be finally meeting up with some of our friends that we have made through my Instagram account! We've planned to meet up with Dayna from @asprinkleofdisneymagic and Yaz and Ash from @yazandashofficial! Honestly, I can't wait to meet Dayna, Yaz and Ash! It's going to be so much fun meeting them in the most perfect place ever, Walt Disney World!

★ Visiting Galaxy's Edge
Matt has already said that he thinks he may cry when walking into Galaxy's Edge! If you didn't know, Disney has recently opened a new land to Hollywood Studios and it's Star Wars themed. It looks insane and so immersive! I am ready to try the Blue Milk and pilot the Millenial Falcon!

★ Riding the Disney Sky Liners
Something else that Disney has recently added to the parks and will be opening soon is the Disney Sky Liners! These are gondola lifts that will be able to take you from Epcot to Hollywood Studios as well as a few resorts! We really want to try these out when we visit in November.

★ Attending a Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party
Last November, when we went to Disney for a week, we just missed out on the Christmas party and I was so upset! However this year we will be there when the parties will be happening and I honestly can't wait to attend! I still need to book our tickets but you bet I'll be booking this soon!
I still can't believe that we are going again this year and we both just can't wait to get back to that Florida sun and soak in the Disney magic! Let me know if there are any Disney themed posts you would like to see from me in the comments below! I would love to share some advice when it comes to booking Disney trips!

★ The Monthly Coffee Date #1 ★

4 September 2019

I do apologise for the lack of posts I have uploaded on my blog recently! I have just been so busy and I just can't seem to find a spare minute to sit down and really dedicate some time to my blog. It does not help that my laptop is playing up and won't charge! So because of that, I am currently writing up this post during my lunch break at work. Anyway, at least this post is finally being written and I hope you enjoy it.

I thought it would be fun to write up a little round up each month where I can sit down with a coffee and update you all on what I have been up to during the past month! August was a fairly busy month so I have lot's to update you all on! I have also added a little goals section to this posts as I thought it would be fun to give myself some goals to try and achieve for the next month!
★ I joined the gym
I don't know how many times I have joined the gym but I have done it again and I am more determined than ever to get fit and healthy. I have been feeling quite down recently and one of the main reasons for that is because I'm just not happy with my body at the moment. I'm hoping by going to the gym and getting into a routine will help with my body confidence.

★ I booked my first tattoo
I have been waiting for this moment for AGES. I still can't quite believe that I have actually booked my first tattoo! I'm going to be getting it done early October so I have plenty of time to prep myself. I really can't wait and I just know this will be a slippery slope of me wanting many more tattoos (I already have a list!). I definitely will be blogging about my experience and I will be sharing many photos!

★ Our House The Musical is coming together
If you follow me on social media then you would have seen me talking about this musical. I can't believe we only have three weeks until show week but the show really is coming together. I have created so many special bonds through this show and I cherish each and every one of them. I now can't wait to get back on the stage and I am sure I will be sharing the experience of show week on my blog however I will also be uploading many stories too, so make sure you are following my instagram!

★ Read my favourite books of 2019
I guess this may be a littke spoiler to my 'Reading Round Up' post that will be uploaded this weekend but during August I read a book that is 100% my favourite read of 2019. I honestly can't believe how much I love this book. I felt so immersed into the story and I struggled to put it down! I won't say what book it is but if you want to know, you will have to read my 'Reading Round Up' post this weekend.

★ Going into my third month of my not-so-new job
I still can't believe I have a full time job! I really am enjoying my time (even though the early mornings are a killer). I'm really lucky to work with some great people and I am so thankful for all office experience I am getting! I know it's definitely going to be getting busier at work and I am slowly getting myself prepared for that but so far, I think I'm getting on well!

SEPTEMBER GOALS

1. Get into a gym routine - I really need to get into a routine. I have definitely slacked in the last week due to personal reasons but I really want to get into a routine to work towards my fitness goal! I want to try and go at least 3 to 4 times a week.

2. Eat healthier - This goes hand in hand with my gym routine! I really need to start eating a little healthier! I just snack way too much and I definitely drink too many coffees! I think my first goal is to cut down with the snacks and maybe swap a few coffees with a herbal tea or 2!

3. Become more active on Twitter - I really want to engage with everyone on Twitter a little more. So this is definetly someting I want to improve. Whether that's just uploading a few tweets a day or taking part in a commenting train, I want to become more active!

4. Not care about the numbers on Instagram - I am constantly looking at numbers when it comes to my Instagram! It's getting unhealthy. I obvisouly would love to hit 2K but at the same time, I get really beat up if I lose a follwer! I just want to be happy with who I have following me and not be too caught up on how many people follow me.

5. Start saving more efficiently - I am definitely living from pay check to pay check at the moment and I HATE that. I really want to start saving a little, espeicially as I have a few things planned in the coming months that I defineitly want some spending money for! It also doesn't hurt to start saving for those future big purchases too!

6. Stick to a blog schedule - I have definitely slacked with this over the last few weeks but as of this month (September) I will be uploading two posts a week! One miscellaneous posts (every Wednesday) and one bookish post (every Sunday) every week! I hope you like this way of organising my posts, I think it will give my blog a little more structure! But I definitely need to try and keep up with this schedule!

7. Devote more time to taking photos - I am SO bad at taking photos for my blog posts! It is definitely where I am my most laziness! This is something I hope to improve over the next month!

8. Read more - I really struggle to read more than two books a month and I really want to read more! I'm hoping to put some more time aside for myself so I can read a little more as there are so many books I want to read!

I hope you enjoyed this style of post! I just thought it would be a fun way to update you all on what I have been up to and what I have achieved over the last month! Have you had a busy month? or has it been a fairly relaxing month? I would love to know! Let me know in the comments below!
